Step 1: Event date - image creation

Step 2: Image upload to web for viewing and selecting - 2 to 4 weeks from event date.

Step 3: Image submission by client - generally around 2 months from the event depending on the couple.

Step 4: Design - 8 hours of design labor- finished within 1 month Nov. - April / winter, 2 months in the summer depending on availability

Step 5: Client Approval - page proofs uploaded to web - 2 weeks to approve in general but varies depending on the couple

Step 6: Re-design consult - up to 2 hours design labor if needed.  Redesign specs by email takes much longer and may result in additional design fees.

Step 7: Submit the album to creation company.

Step 8: Shipping album to client - I use FedEx Ground generally which takes 7 to 14 business days once shipped.

Step 3:

It is the couples responsibility to submit the images (aprox. 75 images) needed to complete the album design. The easiest way to submit images for design if you have your iamge files on disk is to drag the images you want into a folder on your desktop, burn a disk and mail it to us for design.  Image lists should be submitted with the image numbers in sequential order. You can submit this information anyway you would like as long as the numbers are sequential in list form. Most use Microsoft Excel for easy sorting after you have finished your list. You will have one year from the wedding date to submit your images for album design for wedding packages containing albums. After one year if no images have been received, no album will be created and no money will be returned.

Step 4:

Album design takes around one month to create depending on the time of year. Summer months will render a longer wait time. Winter months generally result in a shorter wait time. The clock starts when the images are received. Every Album is different in regards to how many images are needed.

Albums need around 30-40 images. We ask that you submit 75 and understand not all images will be used to prevent the book from looking cluttered. If there are images you "must have" we ask that you make 2 lists or folders on the iamge disk you will be submitting, one with the "must haves" and the second list with images you like but can live without incase they do not make it into the design. The album standard for digital books is 10 spreads rendering 20 pages front and back. A spread is 2 pages side by side with the album open.  We will design more spreads than are included in your package so that you may pick your favorite spreads. If you would like additional spreads they are available at $100 each. Matted albums are 24 pages, 12 pages front and back. Matted albums take longer to create because once the album has been created by the album company it is shipped without images.  We then order the prints and put them into the mats.

Step 5:

After your design has been completed we can email the draft or upload it to the web for you to view. The next step is to decide if you would like to make changes. If not changes are needed simple send an email confirming the book is ready to be printed. If you would like to make changes please email or call me to make an appointment. Most album design consultation last 2 hours. This is the allowed duration for changes included in all packages. After this 2 hour process if you still desire changes to be made you will need to make an appointment to come back with a design fee of $60 per hour with a one hour minimum.

Step 7:

Into production: Please understand once the album design is sent to the album company it is no longer in the hands of Tom Sapp Photography. Some album companies take longer than others. I LOVE ordering from Renaissance albums because they are always on time with thier one month promissed turn around times and produce a quality product with reliable customer service. This is the company that makes the Soho book, another reason I love providing this album for my brides. It is known as one of the highest quality albums available today, a product I am proud to offer. The cost is not low but where quality is needed this album will provide.

All Albums options are black leather or leatherette unless otherwise specified before ordering. No text will be put on the cover or in the album, no custom openings and no cover image unless otherwise specified before the album is ordered.  If no cover details are given you will receive our standard album features.  Our standard is a simple but very classy looking black leather album cover with thick pages and beautiful photography.
